Well, it’s almost fall y’all! Hoodie weather, colorful leaves, fall flavors, and so much more are right around the corner. Really, what’s not to love about the season? Fall is chock full of so many fun things to do. It’s a wonderful time to head outdoors to embark on seasonal adventures or to stay indoors to binge-watch movies on the couch. There’s no shortage of fun things to do. What’s on your autumn to-do list? Here are some of our favorite fall activities that you can do with your four-legged friends in tow.
Go Apple Picking

Apple picking is a quintessential weekend activity during the autumn months. Apple picking is a time-honored tradition for some families, and it provides for a memorable fall experience. Some orchards even offer hayrides, petting zoos, and other fall activities for your family to enjoy. Plus, the apples you pick can later be used for making treats, cider, pies, and more. And yes, it’s an activity that’s four-legged friendly at many apple orchards. Just make sure to check the orchard’s policy before you go to confirm that the orchard you’ve selected allows dogs. Grab your leash and head out to your nearest dog-friendly apple orchard for a day of outdoor fun.

Play in the Autumn Leaves

Raking up and jumping into a big pile of colorful and crunchy leaves is a popular fall activity that you can do right in your own backyard. And it’s a heck of a lot of fun too. It provides a great sensory experience for your dog, plus it gets you both outside for a little fresh air and exercise. Just make sure your leaf piles are freshly raked, dry and free from harmful debris. And of course, take the necessary precautions to protect your dog from fleas and ticks. Don’t forget to take pictures and video of the experience to share on social media – everybody loves watching dogs all revved up for leafy fun!

Visit a Pumpkin Patch

Visiting a pumpkin patch to pick out the perfect carving pumpkin is a great way to get into the spirit of the season. It’s an annual fall tradition for many, and it can a whole lot of fun for the whole family, so why not include your dog in the festive fun? They’ll enjoy being outdoors, exploring the pumpkin patch with you, and you can even let them sniff out a pumpkin of their very own. Pumpkin patches provide a great backdrop for photos, so don’t forget to snap some photos of your dog amongst the big orange gourds. Again, it’s best to call ahead to see if pets are allowed, and what restrictions might apply to them.

Get Lost in a Corn Maze

Corn mazes are another quintessential fall activity that can be enjoyed by your entire family – even your four-legged family members. Corn mazes provide a fun challenge for you and your dog as you navigate your way through the winding path of towering corn stalks. It’s a great way to get outdoors and get some mental and physical exercise while having fun and bonding with your dog. Again, just make sure your chosen corn maze allows dogs. Also, make sure your dog is on a leash and is wearing an ID tag – and that you have water and poop bags on hand. We highly recommend that you take your dog on a potty walk before entering the maze to save you from any potential embarrassment.
