We’re definitely still carrying leashes! We were in the middle of a system update over the last few days, which unfortunately caused a lot of our products to show as 'out of stock'—even the ones we still have in our warehouse.
Everything should be back to normal now though, and we still have plenty of leashes available in various colors.

Please Bring Back the 4ft Leash
Climbers Dog Leash – ORIGINAL – 6 Feet
I have the Zippy Paws 4 ft leash. I purchased this many years ago – I’ve tried many others ( they are all longer, too long), but keep going back to the 4 ft Zippy Paws leash – it’s the best! The 6 ft Zippy Paws would be way too much lead for my 77 lb black lab mix dog. Please bring back the 4 ft leash! Thank you.

We're so glad that the 4 ft Climbers leash works so well with Maddie. Unfortunately, that length has been discontinued, and we don't have plans to bring it back at this time. Thanks so much for your feedback and for being a loyal customer! At this time, we're not planning to bring back the 4-ft climber's leash in the near future, but we truly appreciate your input and will definitely keep your request in mind for the future.
Btw, we do offer the MOD Essential leashes, which are shorter at 5 feet. They are also durable; however, they use a thinner rope compared to the climber’s leash, so they are definitely not ideal for larger dogs or those with extra strong pull.

ZippyPaws Leash

I personally love this leash. However there is a problem with the black section that has the name Zippy Paws and makes the connection. My French Bulldog has no problem in sticking his bicep into it and tearing it apart in no time. I doctor it to make a temporary fix. This section needs something more durable to make this leash the very top of the line.

Just to clarify, the black section with the "ZippyPaws" brand is the handle, and the clip at the other end is designed to attach the leash to your dog’s collar or harness. I’ve been using the Zippy Original leash since 2020. It’s still perfect, despite hard use multiple times a day. Very comfortable for me in all situations, and less likely to tangle around his legs. It is also secure and strong, so I can relax even when my powerful jindo mix does crazy happy leaps. I just bought a second one because no other leash I know of is this perfect!

Best Leash Ever

I’ve had my Zippy Paws leash for 6.5 years! This is the best leash. It has held up really well through daily walks morning and night, weather, and being dragged on tough surfaces. The clasps and leash material are quality and have lasted through so much. My dog will be 7 in August and I plan to continue to use this leash as long as it holds up. Then when it needs replacing I will buy another zippy paws leash! I might even get my boyfriend’s dog one as a nice upgrade.
Wow—6.5 years of daily use and still holding up well! That makes us truly happy and proud. We hope to continue being part of the memories you and Ollie create with every use. Hello there I purchased this leash at global pets 5 years ago and has been the leash of my dogs life she is 6 now and in her first year of her life she went through 4 different leashes and none of them held up, but zippy paws climbers leash is amazing for one its incredibly confortable it has the right amount of thickness around your hand that if your dog pulls you have complete control and won’t hurt your hand its light and has been going strong for 5+ years can not go wrong with this purchase im about to buy a new one not because it’s broken but it just has years of wear and tear and just want something that looks new

Clasp broke after 3 years

There should be a recall on these leashes. Seconds before the leash broke, I was walking on a narrow path next to a busy road. My dog could have died. I’ve had dogs for nearly 50 years and never experienced a failure like this. It’s inexcusable.

Leash Clasps

I purchased two leashes about 5-6 years ago and they are by far the most comfortable leashes I’ve ever purchased and used. Problem is the clasps broke on both leashes. I reached out to ZP and they gladly offered to send me one new leash. I think this is great customer service since I have had the leashes for so long. I accepted the free leash and purchased a second one. Now I’m reading that the clasps are an issue with their leashes. They should probably get a new partner for the clasps. Even though, I’ll give them 5 stars for the leashes holding up and for their Customer Service.

I have had my zippy paws leash for my 77 lb staffie mix since he was a year or less. He will be turning 9 this coming July. Other than the piece of material that covers the stitching moving a bit, which does not interfere with the performance, the leash is superior to any other that I’ve seen.
I came here initially to see if you carried a double hooked leash and started reading the reviews. It seems you may in fact have changed manufacturers of the clasp part as mine has lasted all this time with a leash reactive dog!
Please comment as to whether or not you have corrected this issue. Until then I will continue using my old one.

my dog is 7 human years old and i love him to death!! i found these zippy paw leashes and bought him one about 6 years ago… and it is the best! unfortunately, someone else realized how great the leash was and they stole it!! I am here purchasing a replacement today! might get a matching collar too! i never had an issue with it at all. i wash it about once a month and air dry it, not one singe fray or broken latch… in my opinion, zippy paws makes the best leash ever!!

Best leash to walk multiple dogs

This is my go to leash to walk my three dogs. The thick rope makes it easier to handle multiple leashes. Using other leashes is more frustrating when the leashes get tangled. I think the feel of the thick rope is less rougher on your hands as well.

Hiking with two large dogs

I came across this leash at a Marshall’s store and have it try after being very frustrated with leashes I bought at other box stores. Zippy Paws , 6 ft climbing leash has out lasted every single leash I’ve ever had. I have one pot bull mix and a strong red healer mix. Walking both takes some strength but using this leash has made our hikes easier! I’m 5’5”, 180lbs and pretty strong but having to hold back two strong dogs as a deer leaps by or a squirrel, it can be a bit much. Thankfully, these leashes are strong enough to hold them back, giving me slack to pull them back as we hike and the ability to let them have freedom.

I loved this leash but after about a year the clip started randomly un-clipping on our walks. My pup wasn’t even pulling, just walking right at my side on loose leash and all of a sudden the clip just falls undone when it seemed to be working fine. Very dangerous especially since I live in the city and she could get hit by a car. I really hoped for more than 1 year of use out of this given its allegedly durable design. If it had a more reliable clasp, I would probably give it 5 stars.

My favorite Leash!

I’ve been purchasing this Climber leash for 2 years now, have one in 3 different colors! By far its my favorite best leash I’ve used and the only one that makes me feel like it’s securely holds my 90lb German Shepard. I did have one that broke but that was because my husband left it on the ground and my Boxer got ahold of it as a puppy and chewed it up!

Could be 5 stars with a new clasp

I have had this leash for 5 months. I don’t use it exclusively but it is my favorite leash. The rope softened up and feels great in my hands – it’s not heavy for the dog. I love it. Until the clasp began simply unhooking while we were on walks. At first I thought this was user error – but the leash had been attached to the collar which is what goes on/off the dog at walk time. Finally I read other reviews and learned this is a serious design flaw! Zippy Paws – make this right before someone’s loved one gets lost or worse!
Edison is deaf – so the fact that I was able to stop him and reattach his leash is a HUGE accomplishment. This could’ve ended so much worse.

Loved but....It did break, and so changed rating big time

We loved this leash, until tonight. We have had it about 2 years, but the way it broke was suddenly on a leisurely walk the leash hit ground and our dog was free- not realizing he was, and we had no idea what just happened. Had this been a year ago when we rescued him as a frightened dog on death row for space at a kill shelter for 8 days, this story wouldnt be so calmly ending. So, just want to make others aware to maybe check it? No idea. I did contact company. They were nice and responded quickly. They admitted was a defect, but way past warranty. 15% discount wasn’t enough for me to place an order. We do love the poop bag holder that goes with it too- best set up we have had until tonight. Just grateful we were on a dead end, quiet walk tonight..because we are surrounded by busy streets and ignorant and lawless drivers. Sad thing, I will pull out my trusty 14 year old flat nylon leash- have 2 still going strong. ( This ZippyPaw Leash was 1st leash hubby picked over these old ones!)
Did this company ever address the clap issue? I want to purchase this leash but now feel a bit apprehensive. A metal clasp should last well over 2 years. 10-15 at minimum if you ask me.
I completely disagree with James's comment that the leash was bound to wear out after 2 years. This is not a pair of underwear or socks! These leashes should easily last 15-20 years if made with quality clasps. I have two 80lb Labradors and both are walked with zippy paws climber leashes. The large diameter rope is very comfortable to handle/hold over the old school flat nylon leash. A little back ground, we own two of these leashes purchased two years apart. One leash is about 7yrs old that we purchased when our first Lab was a pup and is still holding up strong. Our second lab is 2 years younger and his leash just broke after 4yrs of use. I will say this with complete confidence, the materials used in the 7yr old leash are superior over the newer 4yr old leash. The 4yr old leash broke at the metal clasp, which is a different clasp from the clip pictured in the leash for sale now. The clasp fractured and was not a wear and tear issue. This failure is an internal fault in the type of metal used and not at the spindle part. I have lost confidence that the Zippy Paw leash is a quality rugged product. Sad, because we love the leash but cannot put our Labs in harms way that the leash at any moment could fail.
Well, you did, after all, have it for two years. It was bound to wear out.
This leash is, by far, one of the most superiror products on the market.
